@Cathy Reed I’ll have to check out the rest of the series. The clear speaking really helps.

@KateP The first time I did a scribe lesson with a "Manos a la obra" video was in 2018. That little girl (Meli) must be at least 17 now. There was a video with a little girl named Zulbany from when she was little, it was really hard for me to understand her especially since I was just starting. Zulbany is a teenager now and I can understand her perfectly in her recent videos.

@BettyBoo one thing I did find interesting was that she is doing an image of a carved pumpkin (as opposed to eating pumpkin) which is more of a Celtic tradition. That sent me down a bit of a search for when the influence crossed over to Mexico, and best I can tell it is only about 30 years.

@BettyBoo I've been loving the paper cutting one. The girl speaks very clearly in a way that's ideal for a language learner. But I also felt I was ready for a new topic when she started the pumpkin. Maybe because Fluency Club stretches out for so long they are best at < 15 captions or something. Videos that are awesome to watch a few times in one day (or daily in bits for two weeks) are a bit less fun in weeks three and four 🤷♀️

BTW, it's not the girl's fault. She is delivering an excellent clear lesson and doing a good job. I'm just going to opt out on the rest because I"m not interested in the content.

It was cute at first, but these aren't really words I need to know, and I don't celebrate Dia de Muertos. IMO, the segment should have been cut in half and yet it goes on and on.

I wish we could be done with paper girl.

@Cathy Reed It looks like Go Spanish also has packages of bundles of 8 private tutoring sessions. I suspect if you want something very specific like math vocabulary and conversation that might work the best. Somewhat pricier but still looks a good deal.

@Cathy Reed I just finished my first 1:1 class with Go Spanish a few minutes ago. With something like that I would think you could basically discuss anything in the private classes. You do pick a topic when signing up and I could see the topic list when I signed up for my one free 1:1, but since you only get one 1:1 with the free trial I can't see the list now. I am going to register, though, so I will let you know when I can see the topic list again how flexible it is. The packages all have unlimited group classes, but zero, two or four private classes a month. Not sure which I am going to get yet.

@KateP Right now what I need is a class on how to say fractions in Spanish. I am helping my Grandson with his fifth-grade math that is in Spanish. I know how to say all of the other words correctly in his word problems, but when they show the fractions written out in numeric form, I am missing the vocabulary for that. I just have to take his word for it that he is saying them correctly.
